Eden

Eden is a digital oasis meticulously sculpted using procedural and parametric modeling techniques, where every pixel tells a story.

The Corpuscles are designed with polygon modeling, topological thinking, and procedural modeling. Made in Maya and Grasshopper with non-destructive and reversible workflows (Nurbs,SubD,Mesh).

Starting as merely a shell of cartilage, the Dawn Corpuscle in the youngest form feels like a brush stroke across a canvas. As the Dawn cell develops we see a thickening, as the form becomes more robust. This cell appears to be carved and eroded in ways similar to canyons on earth. As the cell develops, branches are formed to act as infrastructure for efficiently distributing the energy amongst the cell. The cell forms grooves to keep pockets of warmth within. In full maturity and light we can see the final stage of development.

As we rotate around the Dawn Corpuscle we feel icy and cold. Seasoned by the bitter frost, the pink parts feel prickly and cold. There is a sharpness in their geometry, jutting out like icicles, the blue blubber parts of the mother cell respond to the cold by becoming calloused.
