EDEN

This research explores AI-assisted world building as a tool for fostering environmental empathy and action, through the examination of a case study called, Eden.

Eden suggests that even in a virtual realm, meaningful encounters with life can shape our values and perspectives.Through the navigation of synthesized biomimetic biomes, the boundaries between the tangible and virtual blur, deepening our comprehension of Earth's intricate societal and ecological fabric. By linking humanity's innate instinct to play and merging it with artificial 3d creations, we explore the transformative potential of ‘bio-deepfakes’ -- digital entities that blur the line between hand-crafted assets and living biological organisms.

As humans further immerses into such digital playgrounds, not only are we entertained, but deeply influenced, highlighting the intertwined nature of our physical and digital realities. Eden asserts that AI-generated 3d worlds can provide meaningful insights into our interspecies relationships and emphasize the significance of empathy in advancing global interests, specifically, addressing human-assisted climate change.
